Service Contract No. 41 -
(Sulu Sea) |
| |
| |
| Immediately after their drilling campaign in 2008, block operator Tap Oil carried out a comprehensive G&G work which included 3D seismic data re-processing and inversion, interpretation and evaluation of the block which continued on until the second half of 2010. They also embarked on promotional campaign to invite potential new partners into the Sulu Sea block. Unfortunately, all efforts by Tap Oil to invite new partners and to secure an extension of the term of SC 41 from the DOE were not favorably rewarded. During a partners meeting in July 2010, the consortium passed an Operating Committee Resolution for the surrender of the block to the DOE. The JV partners however have agreed to re-apply for a new contract pending the opening of the new contracting round by the DOE. |
